Job Role Overview

The Generator Technician will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair of generator units—specifically engines from brands like Caterpillar, Cummins, and Kirloskar. This includes everything from routine servicing to complete engine overhauls. The role demands hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of industry standards and safety protocols.

The technician will work closely with the maintenance supervisor, providing updates and reports while ensuring all tasks are carried out according to predefined schedules and workshop policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, and servicing of generators.
• Identify faults through diagnostic tools and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical failures.
• Overhaul engines and replace parts as required to ensure generator efficiency and reliability.
• Carry out routine inspections, addressing any complaints or issues raised by operators.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
• Submit reports and feedback to the maintenance supervisor after each job.
• Stay updated with technical knowledge through training and reading.
• Follow all safety regulations and workshop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and within the assigned time frame.
